This Week in Sport: 29th July − 4th August 2024
There are some huge sporting events coming up this week with every day packed full of action from the Paris Olympics. The Olympic Mountain Biking Men's Cross-country is on Monday, Tuesday sees the Men's Triathlon individual race (pending water pollution issues), and the Olympic Rowing Men’s and Women’s Quadruple Sculls Finals are on Wednesday, the Artistic Gymnastics Women's All-Around Final is on Thursday, and Friday will see multiple Swimming Finals.
Heading into the weekend, away from Paris Terence Crawford fights WBA super welterweight champion Israil Madrimov on Saturday, and a thrilling day of Olympic Athletics takes place on Sunday.
Olympic Mountain Biking: Men's Cross-country

The Olympic Mountain Biking Men's Cross-country is set for Monday at Élancourt Hill. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot secured a dominant gold in the Women's Cross-country on Sunday. The Men's race should be wide open and an exciting watch.
Olympic Triathlon: Men’s Individual Race

The Olympic Triathlon men’s individual race will take place on Tuesday in central Paris on a stunning course. Defending champion Kristian Blummenfelt will aim to be the second athlete after Alistair Brownlee to win consecutive gold medals. The women’s individual race will take place on Wednesday and the Mixed Rally will be next Monday. There is a risk the schedule might change due to water pollution issues in the Seine.
Olympic Rowing: Day 5

Wednesday will see the Olympic Rowing Men’s and Women’s Quadruple Sculls Finals take place at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium. The day will also feature the Coxless Pair, Lightweight Double Sculls and Single Sculls Semifinals for both men and women.
Olympic Artistic Gymnastics: Women's All-Around Final

On Thursday, the thrilling Artistic Gymnastics Women's All-Around Final will take place at Accor Arena in Paris. Team United States are likely to dominate; 2016 champion Simone Biles dazzled on her return on Sunday despite tweaking her left calf but will face tough competition from teammate and reigning champion, Suni Lee.

Olympic Swimming action continues on Friday at the Paris La Defense Arena in Nanterre, featuring the Men's 50m Freestyle, the Women's 200m Backstroke, and the Men's 200m Individual Medley.
Boxing Fights: Terence Crawford v Israil Madrimov
