The 21st <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-asian-games/competition-asian-games">Asian Games</a>, also known as Asiad, is a major international sporting event that showcases the best athletes from 45 countries in Asia. It is held every four years and is recognized as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games. With top-notch facilities and state-of-the-art stadiums, the 2018 edition of the <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-asian-games/competition-asian-games">Asian Games</a> was held in <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-jakarta">Jakarta</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/team-indonesia-1">Indonesia</a> and co-hosted by Palembang. Some of the notable teams and players who participated include China's star swimmer Sun Yang, Japanese tennis player Naomi <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-osaka">Osaka</a>, and the Indian men's hockey team, who won the gold medal for the first time in 16 years. The final match for the football event took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, which has a capacity of over 77,000 spectators.
