This Week in Sport: 6th November − 12th November 2023

There are some exciting fixtures coming up this week in the world of sport. On Monday, Tottenham Hotspur host Chelsea in the Premier League, Tuesday will see Paris Saint-Germain travel to the San Siro to face AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League, and on Wednesday, the Denver Nuggets face the Golden State Warriors in the NBA. The Boston Bruins will take on the New York Islanders in the NHL on Thursday and Friday will see Premiership Rugby action as Gloucester Rugby go head-to-head with Bath Rugby.

Heading into the weekend, UFC 295 will take place on Saturday, as Jiří Procházka faces Alex Pereira in a bout for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship belt. Tennis action will round out the week with the Billie Jean King Cup Final taking place on Sunday.

Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Monday will see a London derby in the Premier League, as Tottenham Hotspur host Chelsea. Spurs will be confident going into this matchup, as they are the only side in the league to not yet lose a match, and a win here against their London rivals will see them go top of the table. Chelsea have had a less successful start, only managing to win three of their games so far but will be hoping they can rise to the occasion with a win and move into the top half of the table.

UEFA Champions League: AC Milan v Paris Saint-Germain

San Siro, Milan

On Tuesday, AC Milan will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League group stage at the San Siro. The visitors currently sit top of Group F, winning two of their three matches so far in the competition, which includes a 3-0 win over Milan. The Italian side, who reached last season’s Semifinals, are yet to win in this season’s competition so will be looking to put this right on Tuesday.

NBA: Denver Nuggets v Golden State Warriors

Ball Arena, Denver

Reigning champions, the Denver Nuggets, will take on the Golden State Warriors in the NBA on Wednesday. Both sides have had strong starts to the season, so this is sure to be a high-quality game. The Nuggets currently sit top of the Western Conference, winning six of their seven games, whilst the Warriors sit in third, winning five and losing two.

NHL: Boston Bruins v New York Islanders

TD Garden, Boston

NHL action on Thursday, as the Boston Bruins take on the New York Islanders at TD Garden. The Bruins have started the season very strongly and currently sit top of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division but lost last time out to the Detroit Red Wings. The Islanders have had a mixed start so far, but they will be looking to cause an upset in Boston.

Premiership Rugby: Gloucester Rugby v Bath Rugby

Kingsholm Stadium, Gloucester

On Friday, Gloucester Rugby face Bath Rugby at Kingsholm in the Premiership. This West Country clash is hard to judge so early into the season, with both sides sitting on two wins and two losses to start their campaigns. However, both sides are full of quality so there is no doubt this will be an exciting affair.

UFC: UFC 295: Procházka v Pereira

Madison Square Garden, New York

UFC 295 takes place on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. The main event will see Jiří Procházka take on Alex Pereira for the vacant Light Heavyweight Championship belt. Procházka won this belt in June 2022, but vacated it after a serious shoulder injury.

Billie Jean King Cup: Billie Jean King Cup Final

Sunday 12th November 2:00PM GMT/3:00PM Local Time

Estadio de la Cartuja, Seville

The Billie Jean King Cup Final will take place on Sunday at the Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville. Current champions Switzerland will return to defend their title in Spain and sit in a tough group with the Czech Republic and the United States. Notable players to watch out for in this competition include Elena Rybakina, Markéta Vondroušová, and Caroline Garcia.
