Event of the Day: Chicago Blackhawks v New York Rangers
Our event of the day
is the NHL clash between the Chicago Blackhawks and the New York Rangers at the United Center. The Blackhawks have been going through a bad patch lately and will try to get back to winning ways after six defeats in the last nine games; the last of those came against the New Jersey Devils in a 7-5 defeat on Sunday at the United Center. The Rangers are in a completely different mood, after a slow start to the season they have improved significantly and are currently on a six-game winning run, which makes them the form team in the league. Their last game was a comfortable 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers, with two goals from Rick Nash.
The New York team’s iconic goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has been in top form with a string of fine performances in defending the goal. Chicago have lost their last four duels with the Rangers at the United Center, having last won back in March 2012, the score was 4-3. The Blackhawks will be relying on key men Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane, who has won three Stanley Cups and numerous individual awards, to end their poor home record against the Rangers. It is all set-up for an exciting game.
